Visit Wrap-Up

 
Made the greatest pork tenderloin tonight. Perfectly tender, perfectly flavored with pepper and thyme. I'm going to eat well the next two days at work.

I didn't get much writing done over my days off, only a little editing. Nothing like writing porn where your near-80 year old grandmother might see it to deter progress. My sister was a less inclined to go on and on about babies at the end of the trip which made things a billion times more tolerable. Never in my life have I been relieved to be discussing, of all things, makeup. I even permitted my sister to spend what I consider a scandalous amount on blush and bronzer. She was so excited to show me her favorite and she got one of the sales ladies to put it on me and it is very pretty, but then I saw the price tag and went: asdf^%#%$#*^%&^%, you can not be serious! That's, like, three weeks of groceries! But she was serious and was excited to buy it for me and it's not like being bought pretty, expensive makeup is a hardship (I don't have much money and I have certain priorities, okay?). I'll see my sister again Friday night and Saturday morning, she plans to come visit my place, then I'll take her to the airport to catch her flight back home. In any event I'll get a little time with her and baby Emma. 

The kitties did okay. Ampersand didn't eat much of her food the last day (I'm not sure if she touched it at all). Didn't eat much today, either. She is happy and playful and active, so I'm not too worried. Coco's been cuddly and has been in desperate need of attention. I'd hoped that after a few days of my roommate feeding Coco the cat would warm up to her. No dice. Coco still hates Chee.

H'okay. I've eaten dinner and a baby cupcake. It is long past time I begin noveling. Will write about the trouble with writing at work with new 'monitoring' system in place later.
