Great Escape: Sighting? #21
Oct. 26th, 2011 02:47 amI was awoken around 2 AM to the sound of Bunny screaming. Can't be positive it was Bunny, but I've heard enough fights between Ichabod and Bunny to be confident, and aren't mothers attuned to the crying of their children? So I get up-at least w/ enough sense to put on my glasses, but not enough to put on some goddamn shoes and take the flashlight. I open the door to find the bowl of food empty (again) and I hear the scream again. There's a definite cat fight back in the parking lot.
In the infinite wisdom of those who built this complex, there are a million gates blocking human access from one area to another. The most direct route from my place to the parking lot is blocked: I have to go around the building. At least it made me take stock and go back inside for some shoes and the backpack, but in my rush I didn't bring the flashlight. I ran out and as I got in the car park, I heard her scream again. I realized then I didn't have my flashlight, but I certainly wasn't going back with her close by and in trouble.
I raced over and over by the laundry room dumpster, I saw a black streak take off. CHASED BY THE MOTHERFUCKING ORANGE STRIPEY BOY CAT. The asshole. I now know what would drive someone to do another person's cat harm. I followed them as they raced around the building. There was no sign of the black streak, but I did see the orange boy cross over the gated pool area where I couldn't follow. I went back to the apartment, since it wasn't far, and got the flashlight. Should've tried to follow the orange cat, as he's probably better equipped to hunt Bunny in the night than I am. Idiot me decided to double check the car park first, as I hadn't actually seen her leave it.
Needless to say, I searched the entire complex, twice. Ran into a grey cat about the direction I suspected Bunny to have run, twice. After my first round, I went back to the apt to pee and when I came back out again, there was the motherfucker orange cat, calling at me, following me. Fuck him, the fucking bastard. I never should have petted him.
Mum'ma's sorry, Bunny! Mum'ma is so worried right now, worried if you're safe or if that fucker hurt you. You don't have to hide, sweetpea. Come back home.
