Like a Grown-Up

I knew I'd get a fair amount for my return; did not know it would $2000. Sweeeeeeeeeeet.
This is the argument that went down in my brain, I kid you not:
Covetous Brain: BOOOOOOOOKS! SHOOOOOOOOSE! I see a retro L.A.M.B. purse on ebay you have wanted for 4 years for $80 and you know the knock-off Burberry thing you carry is fraying at the bottom. DO IT.
Responsible Brain: CAR PAYMENTS FOR A YEAR--er, L.A.M.B., did you say? Fine, buy the purse but then, CAR PAYMENTS.
Am gonna watch that handbag like a hawk and try to win it.
I'll also purchase my plane tickets back home for Christmas when my second (commission) paycheck shows up at the end of this month. The rest of it will be used to replenish my somewhat depleted savings, which I'm trying to build up enough for an IRA. Which doesn't feel like I'll ever manage. I could use this tax return, get that off and running. But I have to contrast that with killing the interest on my car payment so I won't be paying for the thing FOREVER and end up throwing a BAJILLION dollars at a car. At least I started a 401k this year, as per The Plan. And as I plan to stick with The Company for the minimum 2 years, I'll be able to keep 25% of of their contribution. If I stick around 5 years (that means 3 more years) I get to keep 100%, but. Yeah. It'd be years and I doubt I could stand it.
Caved and bought the new pair of Doc Martens boots I'd been circling like a vulture for months. At least I have the excuse they're to match my IDRIS costume, which they are. But I will so wear the shit out of these boots, they are killer.
Back to sewing now; so much dress to make, so little time.
