WriMo Prep
Oct. 24th, 2012 06:33 pmI’m confident I’ll be doing NaNoWriMo this November. I know the arguments against WriMoing, and understand them. For me, this will be less about achieving the 50,000 word goal and more about focusing. Setting aside time to write and not thinking stressful thoughts. Relaxing. Trying to remember this is about having fun. Not putting limits on what I write or shooting down a story idea at the off.
To prepare for WriMo, I am anticipating the daily grind chores and trying to get as much of that done now so I’ll be freed up later. I purchased several frozen, ready-made meals. Frozen pizza, quiche, pot pies. Once it has thawed, I’ll be baking a big turkey breast. Some stuffing and wild rice sides, too, for ready-to-eat dinners. They’ll go in the freezer. I should make butternut squash soup, too. The point is, I’m going to try to reduce the time I have to spend both grocery shopping and cooking, as those things tend to consume a lot of a lot of time.
Both of my Doctor Who PWPs are coming along. For now, it might be for the best not to worry about the big picture or Where My Life is Going, and just finish a few vignettes for me.
