Progress Report: Back on a Track
Aug. 11th, 2014 10:41 amMy basement has a leak. Called a plumber. I have very little money, so the repair had better be covered by the goddamn homeowner's insurance policy I pay for every month. Because I have no money.
I applied for two jobs this weekend that looked vaguely promising, but who knows what will pan out.
I wrote at least 1000 words this weekend on novel. That is on target. WC, achieved.
One of the panelists at the pro panel at SDCC asked me to critique his comic book. I actually had some time on Sunday, so I read and jotted down my initial response and will write it up later.
Productivity!!!!
Edit: So the plumber was supposed to be here 12-5. I took off work in the afternoon to meet this requirement, but I was veeery suspicious about the way the lady took the call, like, "Yeeeah, I think we can?". Suspected they'd be late, but I took the time off. It is now 5:15. Called them; they said the dude is likely to show around 5:30. The lady asked if I wanted them to come tomorrow and I was all, "Well, I know he's just going to look at it and say 'I don't have the parts for that' and we'll have to reschedule another day and I'll have to take even more time off of work, so let's just get this over with now."
That's the kind of job I need: the kind where I can be hours late and when I do show up say, "I don't have the parts; that will be $55, please".
